Capital Communicators Newsletter - April 2009

Our current newsletter contains information on the new club, a message from our club president and news about the progress of the club and individual members.

New Edinburgh Toastmasters Club!!

Need to speak in public but feeling too nervous? Want to speak, listen and lead more effectively? Love to perform to a captive audience?

You've come to the right place, and thanks to the success of Toastmasters International in Scotland, help is even closer to hand - a second club named 'Waverly Communicators' is opening in the heart of Edinburgh! Jury's Inn, at 43 Jeffrey Street, EH1 1DH, behind Waverley Station will play host to a brand new Toastmasters club every second Thursday, starting on 23rd April. Meeting will commence at 7:15 for 7:30 and last 2 hours. On arrival at the hotel, please report to reception first and ask for directions to the venue.

Please come along and volunteer for roles: there will be plenty of opportunity for you to improve your communication and leadership skills.

These leaflets can be used to publicise the new club - please post as many as you can!

Whether you're a professional, student, stay-at-home parent, or retiree, Toastmasters is the best way to improve your communication skills. Toastmasters can help you lose the fear of public speaking and learn skills that will help you be more successful in whatever path you've chosen. You'll be a better listener. You'll easily lead teams and conduct meetings. You'll comfortably give and receive constructive evaluation. You already have some or all of these skills. In Toastmasters, you will enhance them.

We meet every fortnight for two hours, and also take part in regional and national events with other toastmasters clubs.  People can socialise in the pub after the meetings and we run occasional social events throughout the year.

Our next meeting is here. Guests are most welcome.
